Вопрос к переводчику: разве "how’s your day" - не эквивалент "как ты себя чувствуешь"?

Нет, абсолютно не эквивалент.

In Russian, you can use the following sentences [as a translation]:

"Как день прошел?" - no specific meaning, the answer could be related to anything important to the person, for example to a revolution in the Antarctic.

"Как ты провел день?" (to a familiar person) / "Как вы провели день?" (official or polite style) - the person asked is supposed to tell something about his actions and events happened to him today.
